    1st car - 1965 Mustang ragtop - restored with built 289 by me and my father - beautiful car - for a Ford. ;) FASTEST car for drag racing I've ever had was a 74 VW bug with a 1908, Vertex mag, aftermarket heads, 1800# clutch, ect. UNHOLY QUICK for a street car - only street raced it, so I don't know what it ran. 13's or 12's I'd guess.

    Added Mopar door sill guards, removed decals, Toff spray in bed liner, Magnecor 8.5 wires, slightly ported and polished "flat top" throttle body, Lakewood traction bars, 180 thermostat, Mopar Performance headers, 3" DynoMax UltraFlo muffler, 3" high flow cat, all 3" mandrel bent single exhaust. BFG Radial T/A's all around - 295/50's in the rear. BFG Drag Radials 295/50's on two extra stock 8" rims for racing. "Godzilla's Head" shifter knob on a body color matched red shifter stick.

    Sure Grip unit and 3.92's.
  • Planned modifications:
    Mopar Performance valve spring kit (springs and retainers) and rocker kit (pushrods, guideplates, studs, 1.6:1 steel roller rockers. Lock right differential, air intake setup (FABM, FIPK, or ram air system), and a tire wheel change (fatty's tucked in back with skinnys up front for the "drag" look).
  • If money were no object:
    Blower with a full cage and fiberglass one piece front end. Four link and tubs in the rear. Perhaps a 426 or 440 depending upon legal issues......
  • Additional modification comments:
    Pulled left and right rubber air "walls" on either side of radiator to get more cool air to the motor. Seat covers, both bumpers painted red to match truck.
